What is the purpose of Select All?

Oct 12, 2012 at 9:45 AM

When you select "Select All" in the column chooser everything in the datagrid disappears and you're stuck with that state. Should it really be like that???

Ideally select all feature is given when you want to remove any selected information and there should be no filtering applied on that column.

Please post a sample application so that I can replicate it.

I also see this problem. Here is a sample program that demonstrates it:

Window1.xaml
<Window x:Class="ExtDataGridTest.Window1"
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
    xmlns:XGrid="clr-namespace:ExtendedGrid.ExtendedGridControl;assembly=ExtendedGrid"
    Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300">
    <Grid>
        <XGrid:ExtendedDataGrid
            x:Name="xDataGrid"
            Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0"
            RowHeaderWidth="17"
            HideColumnChooser="False">

        </XGrid:ExtendedDataGrid>
    </Grid>
</Window>
Window1.xaml.cs
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Text;
using System.Windows;

namespace ExtDataGridTest
{
    public partial class Window1 : Window
    {
        public Window1()
        {
            InitializeComponent();
            List<SourceClass> myList = new List<SourceClass>();
            myList.Add(new SourceClass() { Name = "John", Age = 25 });
            myList.Add(new SourceClass() { Name = "Jill", Age = 31 });
            xDataGrid.ItemsSource = myList;
        }
    }

    public class SourceClass
    {
        public string Name { get; set; }
        public int Age { get; set; }
    }
}
To reproduce, run the app, right click on a column header and click select all.
All the column headers disappear. The chooser closes. There is no way to get the chooser back to re-enable columns.

This issue was fixed long time back, please take latest dll and try again.
Now you can right click anywhere.

You dont see any option after right clicking again?

I do not see any options after right clicking again. Nothing happens when I right click in the header area.

Please send me project sample.
I will work on it tomorrow.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do I do that on codeplex?

No, I like the option, I just want to be able to recover from deselecting all columns.
Ideally, I think it should behave like clicking any of the column names, in that the columns become visible or invisible immediately, but the chooser pop-up does not close until you click somewhere off the pop-up.
